Autumn Wedding Flowers at Captain Whidbey
Admittedly late winter is an odd time to share about an autumn wedding at Captain Whidbey... but fall will be here before you know it, and I am sure some of you are currently looking for ideas for your fall wedding flowers, so here we go! This was a really special wedding for us, as all of the flowers used for this wedding came from our Seattle Cutting Garden! Early fall tends to be an absolutely gorgeous time for our garden- so so many lush blooms like dahlias, Japanese anemones, a late flush of roses, hydrangea, phlox, cosmos, plus so many gorgeous textures like sea oats grass, spirea foliage turning autumn colors, sweet autumn clematis... the list goes on!
For this wedding, we highlighted the beauty of early fall with a colorful, warm and earthy palette of peaches, pinks, oranges, champagne, and white. The tablescapes featured sprawling centerpieces with clematis vines spilling out of ceramic vessels, lots of movement and texture, and beautiful and warm blooms. The ceremony design was created on-site, to highlight the beauty of two madrona trees that provided a natural frame for the couple to marry inside.
One of my favorite memories from this day was during set-up, when a couple of Orca whales suddenly appeared in the bay! It was the only time I have every seen Orcas, and felt like such a blessing on the whole day. See below for some beautiful fall wedding inspiration from this gorgeous wedding at Captain Whidbey. And thank you so much Catherine and Ben for being so trusting with us and open to the magic of the garden for your wedding!
