An Intimate Fall Wedding at Lakewold Gardens
With COVID-19 causing so many couples to re-think and re-plan larger wedding celebrations, this seems like a good moment to highlight the beauty of small, intimate weddings. Over the years, we have worked with a number of couples on small, very personal celebrations, and they are always extremely special. Gathering with just your closest family and friends and exchanging intimate vows... it's truly a beautiful thing.
Below is some evidence! Julie and Nate had a gorgeous, intimate wedding last fall at Lakewold Gardens, with just 20 guests, all of them family. It was in incredibly special day. And as for flowers... for sure this was a highlight of last year's season. The most gorgeous garden roses in taupe and dusty rose tones, chocolate cosmos, flannel flower, lisianthus, cafe au lait dahlias, and so many beautiful autumn textures came together in these designs. We wanted to highlight the beauty of the season without going in a predictably "fall" direction, and as always strove to blend the designs with the environment so that they feel "of the place" and natural rather than superimposed on the space. We created a beautiful, asymmetrical arch installation on the gazebo where Julie and Nate were married, a long table lined with organic and lush centerpieces for the reception, a bridal bouquet for Julie in soft, neutral tones with a natural but not too wild shape, and unique textural boutonnieres. We always strive to approach each floral piece as a work of art- but with small, intimate weddings where there are fewer individual pieces, each piece gets that much more attention. The result? See below! Congratulations to Julie and Nate, and thank you for trusting with us with not just your flowers, but also your event design (yes, we do that too!).
